STUDIO RULES + PROTOCOLS

Dress Code

Dancers cannot participate in class if they are not dressed appropriately. No necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, or dangly earrings are permitted in classes.

  • Ballet: Pink tights, leotard, Ballet/Pointe shoes, hair must be in secure bun

  • Hip Hop: Clothes that are easy to move in, clean tennis shoes, and hair must be pulled back and off face

  • Jazz: tight fitting dancewear, jazz shoes for levels 1-3 (no shoes for levels 4-5), hair pulled back securely off face

  • Contemporary: tight fitting dancewear, half-shoes for levels 1-3 (no shoes for levels 4-5), hair pulled back off face

  • Acro/Tumbling: tight fitting dancewear, no shoes, hair pulled back securely

  • Tap: clothes that are easy to move in, tap shoes, hair pulled off face

Modern: tight fitting dancewear, no shoes, hair pulled back

Ages for Class Levels

Ruffles + Tots - ages 2-5 *ages listed beside each class
Level 1 - ages 6-8
Level 2 - ages 9-11
Level 3 - ages 11-12
Teen - beg/int Pre-Teens & Teens ages 11+
Level 4 - 13-14
Level 5 - 15+
*Dancers should start in their age group and experiences, and will move levels as necessary based on director’s discretion.4


Attendance

Dancers must attend 75% of classes per month to remain enrolled in the class and be eligible for the end of the season show. Students are authorized and encouraged to make-up classes by attending other available classes. CEDC does not prorate tuition or offer refunds due to missed classes. Before + After Class

No students are permitted to wait outside of the studio before or after classes without their parent or ride present. Rides must be on time due to capacity restrictions for each class.


Due to COVID-19 we have made adjustments to our studio
regiment for participating in classes and programs at CEDC.
COVID-19 Related Rules:

  • we strongly recommend checking your child’s temperature before entering the studio and group settings - temperature must be below 100.4 to enter the studio

  • dancer should show no symptoms - if dancer has been in contact with anyone showing symptoms or a family member with symptoms they must stay home

  • as always, if your dancer feels sick please stay home!

  • dancers should sanitize hands as entering and exiting; sanitizing stations are available

  • dancers should bring ONLY dance shoes, water bottle, a cellphone/keys (if applicable), in a small bag if needed

  • no food or beverage other than water allowed; Water only! Water tanks are available for refills!

  • please use the restroom at home before arriving; restrooms should be for emergencies only

  • rides must be prompt and on time as to not over crowd the studio

  • Parents please email us with any questions you may have when you drop your dancers off! We will respond as promptly as possible.

  • If dancer is exhibiting any symptoms parents will be called to pick them up and dancer will be given a mask to wear as they wait


Releases

Liability Release:

Client understands that there are risks of physical injury associated with, arising out of and inherent to the activity of dance. In recognition of this acknowledged risk of injury, Client knowingly and voluntarily waives all right and/or causes of action of any kind, including any and all claims of negligence arising as a result of such activity from which liability could accrue to Creative Edge Dance Center (CEDC), its faculty, agents, employees, guest instructors, and all affiliated entities. Client hereby agrees to release CEDC and hold CEDC harmless of all liability, and hereby acknowledge that Client knowingly and voluntarily assumes full responsibility for all risks of physical injury arising out of active participation in dance on behalf of the participant. Client and student are aware that this is a release of liability and an acknowledgement of a voluntary and knowing assumption of the risk of injury. All students are required to be covered by their own insurance policies. If injury occurs, it is understood that the student’s own policy is Client’s only source of reimbursement.

Media Release:

Client gives CEDC permission to use student’s picture in or on any form of advertisement for CEDC or a CEDC affiliated event.
